Russia's pollock catch for the 2013 season has reached 717,000 tons, down 1.3 percent from the 726,500 tons harvested during the same period in 2012, Russia's Center of Fisheries Monitoring and Communication (CFMC) reported Tuesday.

Fishermen in the Sea of Okhotsk have harvested more than 636,000 metric tons.

Since the beginning of the year, Russian fishermen have harvested roughly 1.18 million tons of seafood, CFMC said.

Russia's cod catch is up 20,000 tons over the same period last year, to 127,200 tons.
