Russia and Norway have agreed to increase their joint quota of North East Arctic cod by 7 percent to 751,000 metric tons in 2012.
The decision was announced at the latest and ongoing meeting of the Joint Norwegian-Russian Fisheries Commission (JNRC) in Kaliningrad.
Also at the meeting, Russia and Norway agreed to increase the Northeast Arctic 2012 haddock quota by 5 percent to 318,000 metric tons, while increasing Greenland halibut quotas by 20 percent to 18,000 metric tons.
