Only days after banning certain Norwegian salmon exporters, Russia is now threatening to bar imports from Hung Vuong, one of Vietnam’s largest pangasius producers.
All seafood imports from Hung Vuong could be stopped as of May 28 unless Vietnamese authorities “take measures” to inspect the company’s farms and factories, a spokesperson from the Russian veterinary agency Rosselkhoznadzor told IntraFish.
“We are concerned that the way they raise the fish is not appropriate,” Alexey Alexeyenko said, saying the concerns extended both to the farms and the factories.
