Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on March 7 signed a state program investing RUB 90 billion ($3 billion) in the fishing industry with almost half of this amount to go into the catching sector.
‘The Development of the Fishing Industry in the Russian Federation until 2020’ program has defined goals, objectives and main directions of development of fishery industry between now and 2020.
"The main purpose of the state program is to ensure transition from an export-commodity situation to innovative fishery industry development.
