Russia could plug all imports of Norwegian fresh farmed fish as early as next week, the Russian veterinary agency said.
The temporary ban would affect all Norwegian fresh fish exporters -- mainly for salmon -- currently selling into Russia.
“Rosselhoznanzor is considering restricting all imports of fresh aquaculture raised fish from Norway,” a spokesperson, Alexey Alexeyenko, told IntraFish on Thursday.
This will be imposed imminently “unless we receive some serious and concrete information from Norwegian authorities,” he said.
According to an industry player in Russia, Rosselhoznanzor had said restrictions could be in place as soon as next week.
