Several companies asked a US District Court in California on Wednesday to dismiss a lawsuit against that alleges the companies were part of a human trafficking ring.
The suit was brought by Cambodian workers back in June, alleging several companies, including Rubicon Resources and affiliate Wales & Co Universe, and Thai corporations Phatthana Seafood and SS Frozen Food, abused their human rights.
The defendants denied nearly every charge and said parts of the plaintiffs' complaint "consist of statements purportedly based on government reports and argument regarding trafficking in general."
