Brixham, U.K.-based Channel Fisheries will supply all fresh fish for six Jamie’s Italian restaurants in a recently finalized deal.
Channel Fisheries supplied two of the restaurants for a trial in July and August, after which the company secured the full chain’s business Oct. 19.
“What Jamie [Oliver] wants to do is champion British southwest regional fish with an emphasis on less well known, under-used species,” Director Noel O’Brien told IntraFish.
The menu offers fresh squid, gurnard, plaice, mackerel and red mullet, with Channel Fisheries working to the markets to provide a flexible delivery based on availablility each week.
