The range will use material sourced from Greenland and will particularly focus on the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Scandinavia, Knudsen said.

Sushi is already Royal Greenland’s main product in Japan, where sales generate around DKK 450 million (€60.5 million/$76 million) in annual turnover.

Royal Greenland unveiled the launch at this year’s European Seafood Exposition (ESE) in Brussels. “We had lots of positive reactions in ESE and are primarily going for large distributors, large chains and restaurants,” the company said.

The launch is part of Royal Greenland's strategy to focus increasingly on value-added products as it seeks to return to profit after two years in the red.
