Two Greenpeace members climbed atop the retailer's United Kingdom headquarters in Leeds around 7 a.m. Tuesday and unfurled a banner that showed Asda's logo and slogan against a backdrop of bycatch.
As a result of the action, Greenpeace claims Asda representatives told them in talks Tuesday the retail chain would stop selling skate, Dover sole, ling, and dogfish, and would look into removing marlin and swordfish.
