Kjell Inge Røkke was in a generous mood, and was lavish in his praise of fishing fleet owner Erik Breivik whom he called "the Godfather of Alaskan fisheries". He glanced toward Breivik who was actually sitting in the audience:
”He’s the reason I’m standing here today. He was due to go fishing in Alaska, and asked if I was interested in going along. I actually wanted to go to Greenland, and was given an hour to make my mind up,” Røkke said as he started to relate the shortened version of his rise from a low achiever at school to industrial magnate.
