More work needs to be done with U.K. retailers to ensure they understand the full picture about the sustainability of local fish species, said John Rutherford, CEO of U.K. Sea Fish Industry Authority (Seafish).
Discussing the body’s new three-year plan issued this week, Rutherford told IntraFish that Seafish would work with suppliers and retailers to improve access to knowledge and information about sustainable issues.
It is “fascinating, when you drill down, how superficial that knowledge is,” Rutherford said.
