Ramus, who was sentenced to three years and three months for theft and false accounting while working for U.K.-based M&J Seafood in March 2009, is now back working with a new operation, The Fine Seafood Company.

The Fine Seafood Co. -- which Ramus’ wife Donna is registered as the director of -- is supplying into the U.K.-based stores of Whole Foods, the world’s largest organic retailer, and also the Budgen’s and Londis stores operated by Musgrave, Ireland’s largest private company.

Whole Foods replied to a request for comment from IntraFish, but declined to comment as to whether the company was aware Ramus had been sent to prison in 2009 or that he lost a civil case brought by Ocean Trawlers, where he was part of another fraud scam.

“Unfortunately
