The company, which is to sell its fish under the brand Glenarm Organic Salmon, was nearly put out of business when literally billions of mauve jellyfish swept into the company’s cages off the County Antrim coast in the Irish Sea, causing more than £1 million (€1.1 million/$1.4 million) in damage in an attack that lasted seven hours.
“We are on the run up to our first harvest [end July] after the wipeout of our stock by jellyfish in November 2007. Everything is moving along very positively with the first showcase of our salmon at the Glenarm Castle Highlander Challenge,” the company’s John Russell told IntraFish.
