In August 2009, IntraFish wrote that Baard Johannessen had designed a treatment to fight sea lice with little medicine -- while also tripling salmon production output.
Now the toxicologist said he patented his finding in the United Kingdom on June 15.
Johannessen's solution uses two medications in a certain combination. His findings have met with some resistance in Norway, where the Norwegian Seafood Federation (FHL) says he does not have judicial grounds to demand a license for his invention.
