In 2008 France imported one million tons of fish and seafood from the world; of which, 38,830 tons was from the United States, valued at $223 million (€170.8 million). This represents a 4 percent value reduction from 2008 levels, according to a report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).
