Among the five largest seafood-consuming European states, supermarkets in the United Kingdom had the greatest share of seafood retail, 83 percent, according to the latest released figure from 2006.
Spanish supermarkets had the smallest share, 55 percent of the market, but this is set to grow in the next few years.
