The Daily Mail reported an internal mail called on 450 Scottish staff members to take Polish lessons since many of the workers could not understand English.

Some ill-will has developed between foreign and local staff, the paper reported, with some local staffers fearing Polish workers are edging them out.

The Daily Mail did not reach Uniq-owned Pinney's for comment on the story.

Western European countries have seen a surge of workers arrive from new Eastern EU members seeking employment.

Many of the jobs filled by these workers go unfilled by locals.
