A new rebuttal has been published in the journal Science -- where the original article ran -- saying a total collapse of fish stocks by mid-century is not likely, considering some stocks are appearing in higher numbers than in several decades, the report said.

The original article was published by Boris Worm of Halifax’s Dalhousie University in November 2006.

Authors of the new report said Worm’s article should not have appeared in a scientific journal, according to the report.
