Vietnam's pangasius prices are rising on increased demand from the US market and to a relaxing of antidumping taxes into the United States, industry insiders told IntraFish.
Current raw material prices range from VND 22,000 (€0.84/$1.06) to VND 23,000 (€0.88/$1.1) per kilogram, after a month of standing at around VND 20,000 (€0.76/$0.96) per kilogram.
Pangasius exports to the United States totaled $235 million (€186 million) by the middle of August, up 35 percent year-on-year, according to figures by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Producers (VASEP).
