It’s been an eventful month for tilapia producer Regal Springs. A group restructuring led to the departure of Chief Business Development Officer Francisco Murillo, along with Vice President and Director Jim Bruffy, who were both let go and replaced by Magdalena Wallhoff, daughter of CEO Rudi Lamprecht.
But sometimes change is necessary and a shakeup can create whole new opportunities, a source at Regal Springs told IntraFish.
The largest tilapia producer in the world is set to open its new processing facility in Semarang, Indonesia, before the end of the month, less than two years after its massive expansion in Mexico, and executives are currently looking at new growth opportunities, including partnerships to raise fish in new locations around the world, the source said.
