Restaurant chains Red Lobster and Olive Garden joined Thai Union Group on Monday in responding to new allegations linking them to slave labor.
Fresh AP investigations once again linked the Chicken of the Sea and John West owner to the slave trade, this time tracing product from the company's suppliers all the way to major buyers including Red Lobster, Walmart, Whole Foods and several other retailers and seafood supliers.
Red Lobster responded this week with a statement saying it has "investigated the claims in the Associated Press story, and we are confident based on our findings and assurances from Thai Union that our seafood supply was not associated with the abusive pre-processing facilities."
