On Jan. 4, IntraFish reported that UK Fisheries, part of Parlevliet & Van der Plas (P&P) and Samherji, acquired France’s largest saithe fishing group Euronor.
The sale was borne out of UK Fisheries’ goal to “expand its activities” combined with a “strong concern” by Euronor’s management over limited resources, Euronor said.
"[UK Fisheries’] approach retained the attention of Euronor’s shareholders and managers, who were at the time strongly concerned about the reduced access to resources for the company's ships, in EU but also in Norwegian and Faroese waters," the Boulogne group said in a statement.
