Bremerhaven-based independent inspection and service company Impetus Quality Inspection (IQI) recently expanded its operations in China on the back of negative headlines and consumer skepticism against Asian fresh and frozen food imports.
From its new Qingdao branch, the firm now audits and inspects fish and seafood producers and suppliers in Vietnam, Thailand and China for clients which include international traders, retailers as well as industry processors in Europe.
"This step was necessary to meet the quality demands of our European customers," Volker Loock, manager responsible south-east Asia at IQI, told IntraFish.
