The cousin of Russian president Vladimir Putin plans to build an international port close to the Norwegian border, according to media reports.
Igor Putin, who is vice president of Master Bank, plans to invest in development of the Murmansk Transport Hub by establishing an international port in Pechenga Bay, 60 kilometers from Murmansk, said the Barents Sea Observer.
A feasibility study has been prepared and 2,500 hectares of land had been rented for the project, Putin reportedly told the Kommersant. He said potential investors, including the Sultan of Oman, are been evaluated.
