US retailer Publix is hitting back at environmental group Greenpeace, which earlier this week criticized the retail chain for having a weak sustainable seafood policy.
The chain is refuting the findings of a new Greenpeace report that ranked grocers based on their efforts to protect the ocean environment. Publix ranked No. 23 out of 25 national retailers in the report.
Brian West, spokesman for Publix, told the Ledger newspaper the company made a conscious decision to not participate in the Greenpeace survey.
