It appears increasingly unlikely the EC simply will drop the minimum import price (MIP) it currently imposes on Norwegian salmon, despite the recent WTO ruling in Norway’s favor, according to sources speaking last week to IntraFish Media’s sister publication, Fiskaren.

Even the Norwegian industry – which had cheered the WTO’s ruling – is coming around to the realization the MIP is not going anywhere.

It's simply not that easy to get antidumping measures removed and, at least for now, the Norwegian industry is content to wait and see what Brussels does next, Norwegian Seafood Federation Director Trond Davidsen told Fiskaren.
