This was accompanied by an impressive performance for the company, with result before tax jumping 566 percent to NOK 200.9 million (€25.4 million/$33.6 million).
The group, which is jointly owned by Marine Harvest and Vigner Olaisen AS, reached a turnover of NOK 943.9 million (€119.6 million/$158 million) -- a 46 percent increase from 2008.
Operating profit, or earnings before interests and taxes, rose by 204 percent to NOK 216.8 million (€27.4 million/$36.3 million).
Nova Sea has 26 wholly owned-production licenses to farm Atlantic salmon and is a co-owner of a further six licenses.
