The score was given during an audit earlier this year of the company’s facilities in Sumner, located south of Seattle. Most processors score in the mid-80s, the company said.
The company, formed out of trucking firm Maust Transportation, also is touting new technology it says ensures every retail and foodservice portion, bag and box is weighed and recorded.
Part of this effort involves using ozonated water and flake ice, and fully refrigerated processing, shipping and receiving. We added scales at the point of portioning to reduce mis-cuts.
