In a deal worth DKK 67 million (€9 million/$13 million), private-equity fund Deltaq purchased 53 percent of shares in salted fish processing company Jeka Fish, the world’s largest producer of wet-salted cod fillets.

The remaining shares are owned by Jeka Fish Managing Director Halldor Arnarson and former Chairman Sigghatur Bjarnason.

Icelandic Group CEO Finnbogi Baldvinsson told IntraFish the division had been sold because it was not a main part of its business. Icelandic Group acquired the firm in April 2006 when it took over its parent company, Saltur.
