"Pricing is trending up slightly from a week ago, with some CDQ sales reported at very high levels," Paul Gilliland, CEO of Bering Select Seafoods, told IntraFish.

"Processors who have become low in inventory are coming back into the market, and we see a steady, stable demand for the 'B' season."

Jim Browning, executive director of the Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation (AFDF), told IntraFish the timing is great for the start of the "B" season.

"It looks like there is an increase in the amount of cod available, so prices are coming back up, though they certainly haven’t recovered from the big drop six months or so ago," said Browning.
