The North Pacific Fishery Management Council is scheduled to make a final decision on the quota in December, after a survey of the stock is completed, Jim Gilmore of the At-sea Processors Association (APA) told IntraFish on Tuesday.
Talk before the council decision was the quota would be cut by as much as 13 to 14 percent, and Gilmore said the preliminary number could be amended, depending on the outcome of the survey.
The TAC was 1.485 million metric tons last year, and the catch was 1.48
