The company, which is based in Greenland but has its main sales office in Denmark, had one of the best years in its history in 2010, finance director Henrik Krogh told IntraFish.
Its 2010 net profit was DKK 76.7 million (€10.3 million/$14.9 million), up 149 percent year-on-year.
“We have been very lucky with the prices,” said Krogh. Not only did the company benefit from the higher prices on its 2010 catch, it also had stock carried over from 2009.
Polar also harvests and sells Greenland halibut, cod, haddock, saithe and redfish.
