French frozen food chain, Picard Surgelés, is considering expanding its business through franchising, a move it hopes will generate around €900 million ($1 billion) for the company.
This marks a significant change in strategy, because up until now, the group only operated through its own stores, reported Retail Detail.
The company is moving in this direction following several successful pilot franchises in the Corsican towns of Bastia and Ajaccio and on La Réunion.
Up until now, Picard focused on densely-populated areas, but through franchising, it hopes to grow in France's rural areas.
