Held every six years, this event is the global fishing industry’s Mecca. No expense is spared as organizers and the Galician regional government put on an opening ceremony that dwarfed the efforts of the seafood industry’s other major shows.
A joint performance by the Band of the Welsh Guards and traditional Galician bagpipers heralded the start of four days of intense activity, with 800 exhibiting companies and thousands of visitors from more than 109 different countries expected.
