The pilot program was launched this year at the Boston seafood show, where Phillips shared a booth with three of the companies, Honey Konicoff, vice president of marketing fror Maryland-based Phillips, told IntraFish.

The umbrella-brand program includes Minnesota-based Morey’s Seafood International; Virginia-based Cuisine Solutions Inc.; Geno’s Sea-Foods Inc. of New Orleans; Gold Band Oysters, part of Louisiana-based Motivatit Seafoods; and Rahbek, a Denmark-based seafood company.

“This is a great business opportunity for us,” Konicoff said. “There were brands out there, great seafood products, who maybe didn’t have the opportunity to meet with a broader range of buyers.”
