Phillips Foods is one of 17 US companies celebrating the Philippine government’s new blue swimming crab fishery regulations, which went into effect this month.

“It is actually pretty exciting to us,” Edwin Rhodes, vice president for sustainability and aquaculture development for Phillips Foods, told IntraFish on Tuesday. Philips Foods is the longest running and oldest importer of crab in the United States and a member of the National Fisheries Institute's (NFI) Crab Council, he said.

ith a clearly stated goal -- "to ensure the sustainability of the blue swimming crab resources."
