Pescanova’s original auditors, BDO, are set to be reappointed to audit the fishing company’s 2012 accounts.
When it emerged there were “discrepancies” between Pescanva’s accounting and its actual financial situation, the company’s former president Manuel Fernández de Sousa first looked to fire the auditor BDO.
He criticized BDO, which had audited the accounts for 11 years, for not being able to discover the deception.
The dismissal was never effective, but BDO went into the background while it was determined whether there had been any window dressing over the years.
