The Peruvian Ministry of Production (Produce) said fishing recorded in April saw an increase of 101 percent over the same month of 2016, marking 11 months of consecutive growth.
"This result allows fishing continues as one of the sectors that contributes positively to the performance of the national productive activity," Produce said.
The positive figures are mainly based on the increase in landings of anchovy, a result of the opening of the first anchovy season in the north-central area.
