Peru’s fisheries exports increased 46.6 percent in value and 68.2 percent in volume in the first quarter of the year, according to the latest figures by the National Superintendence of Fiscal Administration (SUNAT).
The National Fisheries Society (SNP) said exports of fisheries products reached $848 million (€755.1 million) due to an increase in fishmeal shipments of 78.9 percent, and an increase of frozen products exports of 24.9 percent.
In addition, exports of chilled fresh fish products increased 20.7 percent over the period, and canned seafood exports fell 17.9
