Size is no limitation for Rubio’s supplier
Processor Peru Pacifico is living proof companies need not be big in order to land big contracts. The $22 million (€16.9 million) company sells mahi mahi to US-based distributor Red Chamber, which distributes the product to the restaurant chain Rubio’s.
The company is so far unaffected by the expansion of Peru’s direct human consumption seafood industry, Erik Cuadros Arenas, northern area manager, told IntraFish.
“We try to be different,” Arenas said.
It is certainly well diversified in both products and markets.
