Michael Thome’s exit is the latest example of a worrying trend for High Liner Foods, one which will surely see the company questioned in its second quarter conference call on Thursday.
Thome is the latest in a string of Icelandic USA executives to leave the Newport News, Virginia-based company since the acquisition by High Liner Foods at the end of 2011.
High Liner is adamant the integration process is proceeding smoothly and Keith Decker, its top US executive, issued a “business as usual” statement to IntraFish after the news broke of Thome’s departure, following Christine Garvey, a senior sales executive, the week before.
