Private equity group Altor, which on Monday put in a NOK 6.2 billion (€806.6 million/$1.1 billion) bid for EWOS, together with Bain Capital, could revive Cermaq's plans to buy Peruvian fishmeal producer Copeinca for NOK 3.5 billion (€455.3 million/$611.9 million). 

Altor boss Hugo Maurstadelva said he likes the industrial logic behind Cermaq's acquisition plans, reported Dagens Naeringsliv (DN).

"Cermaq would win further feed business by purchasing Copeinca," he told DN

Cermaq's farming operations, on the other hand, are not as interesting, said Maurstadelva, adding the feed business provides "more stable incomes."
