Intervet/Schering-Plough Animal Health is aware of various articles in the media touching on evidence and suspicions about PD outbreaks this summer.
“Intervet is keeping a close watch on how diseases are developing, and in the period from 2003-2008 the number of PD cases detected has increased significantly from year to year to a total of 109 in 2008,” Hovlid told IntraFish.
This trend was broken from and including the second half of 2008 -- after a number of prophylactic measures, including vaccination of all fish -- were initiated on a grand scale.
