Pacific hake producers told IntraFish the season is expected to be as good, if not better than last season, which was one of the best in recent memory.

A more than 17 percent increase in the Pacific hake, or whiting, quota over last year for the United States and Canada to 428,000 metric tons combined, has fishermen, producers and sellers excited about the upcoming season.
