One week into Alaska's Pacific cod season, price predictions are setting fishermen up for a difficult year, but Pacific cod specialist Clipper Seafoods Vice President Paul Gilliland expects demand from overseas markets to hold steady as the season gets further underway, even with record Atlantic cod supply from the Barents Sea flooding onto the global markets.
“I don’t see any change in our percentage in 2013,” Gilliland told IntraFish, referring to the percentages of Pacific cod the company sells to Europe versus Asia, this year.
