Pacific acquires Coast Seafoods Co., 50% share in Penn Cove

U.S. seafood giant Pacific Seafood Group said Wednesday it has acquired shellfish producer Coast Seafoods Company of South Bend, Wash.

Through the purchase, Pacific also acquired 50 percent interest in Penn Cove Shellfish of Coupeville, Wash., and Kona Coast Shellfish of Kona, Hawaii. Kona Coast is a shellfish hatchery company created in 2006 as a joint venture between Coast  and Penn Cove Shellfish.

The purchase, done through Pacific Seafood subsidiary, Pacific Shellfish Company, includes Coast Seafoods sales office in  Bellevue, Wash.; its Quilcene Hatchery in Quilcene, Wash.;
