“On the contrary, the increased focus on omega-3 only serves to underscore what a healthy product salmon has always been,” Bjordal said in a new IntraFish Industry Report.
In the long run, consumers constantly coming into contact with pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements will be more likely to buy even more seafood, Bjordal said.
“Nothing converts omega-3 more efficiently than salmon,” Bjordal said.
As more and more products begin advertising omega-3 benefits, it's important to make sure consumers remember that message, he said.
