Salmon does a “much better job” at converting fish oil into the valuable EPA and DHA fatty acids than humans have so far been in converting the oil into omega-3 capsules, Ewos’ CEO Kjell Bjordal said in a presentation.

Speaking at the European Maritime Day in Sweden on May 22, Bjordal said producing salmon yields far more EPA and DHA for human consumption than producing omega-3 capsules.

That is because salmon is far more efficient in converting fish oil into the valuable fatty acids.
