The joint venture, which the company will launch with an as-yet-unnamed Russian partner, is slated to begin harvesting krill in mid-2008, Ocean Trawlers co-founder Magnus Roth and CEO Thomas Zachrisson told IntraFish Tuesday at the Groundfish Forum in Bergen, Norway.

Zachrisson, a former executive at Swedish industrial equipment firm Alfa Laval, said Ocean Trawlers will enlist his former firm to provide on-board processing equipment for meal and oil prodcuts.

Russia was one of several new countries recently granted licenses to harvest krill in the Antarctic.
