Volumes have been lower than expected for all operators in the fishery, partly due to bad weather, Gunnar Mansfeld of Three Towns Capital Ltd. told Fishing News International.

Three Towns is the parent company of Hong Kong-based whitefish producer Ocean Trawlers.

“In general, peak season is April to July, and this year volumes have been on the low side of expectations for all operators, including ourselves," said Mansfield.

“That has partly been due to the bad ice situation and the weather situation which, during the peak season, was worse than the previous year.
